With over 30 years of experience, Jamboree Community Kindergarten (JCK) is a welcoming inclusive space designed to nurture, support and help each child thrive. Located within the leafy natural setting of Jamboree Heights, in close proximity to surrounding suburbs of Fig Tree Pocket, Chapel Hill, Kenmore, Mt Ommaney, Jindalee, Middle Park, Seventeen Mile Rocks and Oxley, JCK is recognised for its excellence in education, teaching, sustainability and community. This purpose built facility is also conveniently located right next to Jamboree Heights State School. JCK was born from a desire to create an inspiring and evolutionary learning environment and we are excited to offer this to your family too. The word kindergarten translates into garden for children. JCK is the perfect ‘garden for children’ as they interact with nature as they play, plant a range of vegetables each year, nurture, explore, observe and discover in their own playground (garden) and have access to the local bush and creek for the popular bush-kindy program. The kindergarten is purpose built and well-resourced with the natural environment in mind. JCK provides your family with highly professional long serving educators who are committed to the best educational outcome for each child.

Our Proud History
Our name “Jamboree” means meeting place. The line of happy children under the big bright sun is our logo. For over 30 years, we have been proudly growing curious minds across the Centenary Suburbs and West Brisbane.
Our Sustainability Focus
Sustainability is a key focus in the national curriculum. At JCK , children are actively involved and connected with our sustainable practices through our worm farms, compost bins, a rainwater tank used for water-play in the playground and solar panels on the roof and integrated curriculum.
Our Bush Kindy Program
Our stunning and richly rewarding natural surrounds and adjacent parkland has given JCK the opportunity to establish a unique Bush Kindy Program. With the help of our local councillor and Brisbane City Council, our program actively supports children to connect with the environment in a safe and supported way.

Children learn through play at JCK. They are supported and encouraged to play freely. We also believe that children learn not in isolation, but as part of a collaborative process with adults, their peers, resources and their physical environment.
New kindy funding reform package for Queensland
From 2024, Queensland is introducing a new kindy funding model to give every child a great start. Kindergarten, known as kindy, is a part-time educational program for children in the year before Prep. Kindy is 15 hours per week, or a total of 30 hours a fortnight, 40 weeks per year and is free for Queensland children attending a government-approved kindergarten program from 1 January 2024.
